Evangelism Committee
Currently, the Evangelism Committee has six active members. They are Deb McWhirter, chairman, and Jerry Klingbeil, Norma Klingbeil, Lisa Eberline, Robin Morton and Pastor Ruth Ann Shriver. They are always welcoming others to join the group and encourage you to call one of them or watch the web calendar for the next meeting and simply join us.
Concentrating primarily on outreach programs, they have introduced some exciting new items to their list of accomplishments. The web-site you are looking at right now is one of them. We are all excited about it and hope it will be of assistance to our church family and beyond.
A new brochure, highlighting our activities and events has also been developed to be available to visitors and anyone out making any contacts for the Church.
It is the Committee's hope that we can have an annual "Worship In the Park" event. Last year it was scheduled for a Saturday evening, but it was cancelled due to the excruciating heat. We are going to try again this year and hope for nicer weather. The event is always held in the shelter house at Wilder Park, near Allison.
New this year was a special Sunday called "Invite Sunday" when members were encouraged to invite someone to church who does not regularly attend or who may not have a church home of their own. We intend to make this an annual event.
The fellowship hour following church was reinstated. It is always held the second Sunday of each month. Ministry Groups and Comittees take turns hosting this event.
This year we began a new Bible study called Alpha. Our first course was held last fall with a great deal of success. Thirty attended and many wanted to repeat the course or didn't want it to end. For more information, check out Alpha on the Ministries Page of this web-site.
The Evangelism Committee meets monthly. Watch the home page of this website and also the calendar for times. Please join us if you would like to be involved in their work.
